There has been a burst of social media and mainstream reporting about the American and Israeli militaries merging that I’ve been investigating over the last week. While it may not be a complete “merger” there is a lot of fire behind this smoke. This is a speech I gave Friday a local political luncheon.
Israel is making a surprise, rapid push to merge several U.S. and Israeli military and intelligence processes, planning, and information. The Senate version is currently blocked by a filibuster. However, the House combined and passed the SAVE Act with the 2027 NDAA, which will then face a combined Israeli and MAGA populist push in the Senate.
The filibuster is only still alive thanks to Senator John Thune, who was also the only Republican senator to vote against the merger.
